Brand history

Richard Mille

Richard Mille is a young brand by the standards of its peers: founded in 2001 by its namesake, Richard Mille, with the aim of breaking with the conventions of traditional watchmaking and carrying the technological philosophy of Formula 1 cars into watches.

Its signature tonneau (barrel) cases are made from exotic materials such as NTPT carbon, titanium, ceramic and precious metals, giving them extraordinary lightness and resilience.

The brand's watches are often built around visibly complex, skeletonised tourbillon calibres, worn by athletes such as Rafael Nadal at the highest level of competition, proof of their exceptional durability.

With extremely limited production and genuine technical bravura, Richard Mille became one of the world's most expensive and most sought-after watch brands within just a few years.
